Beach and Bay Overview
A smaller,
more intimate beach community
Causarina trees
rim this small, curving bay beneath the foothills north of
Kamala Beach. Surin Beach
is/was home to Phuket's first golf course , a nine-hole course
laid out more than sixty years ago during the reign of King
Rama VII - for his use only. It is now in use as a park.
The steep incline
of the beach, turbulent water, and big waves make Surin
Beach a great for surfing in the rainy season - and its
placid waters in the dry season (high season here) make it a
great place for swimming. This beach is a favorite for
local Thais and expatriates.
 Located
between Laem Singh Beach and Pan Sea Beach at the end of Sri
Sunthon Rd., the road running west from the Two Heroines
Monument, it is 24 kms. from Phuket Town.
Accommodations are just
across the street. At least 25 beach shack restaurants line
the beach - you will be spoiled for choice! Plenty of
restaurants and shops line the beach and main roads through
Surin Beach.
From the beach
road - the south end of Bang Tao Beach can be reached with
only a 12-15 minute walk to the north.
