Kamala Beach, just like most of Thailand - will never let you down when
looking for a market. They are just about everywhere.
Walk five minutes in any direction and you find at least two. Along
the beach road and main road you will have no problem finding small
markets to meet your needs.
A new Big C has opened in Kamala and there is a Tesco-Lotus
in Cherng Talay to the north and in Jung Ceylon in Patong Beach is a
huge Big C Extra hypermarket.
You can, literally, find just about everything you need.
If those don't meet your needs, one the more complete supermarkets on the
island is at Central Festival Mall - on the ground floor - by the name of MarketPlace. From Hommus to Kettle Chips
- to lentil beans for making dal
- you can even sometimes find Greek Grape Leaves with rice (though it will be
canned!).
Farther south along Chao Fah West Road near the Chalong circle is the
Villa Supermarket
- upscale, pricey - but all your favorite treats and things you can't
find anywhere else.
