Bang Tao Beach and Bay Overview

Bang Tao Bay is a large open bay with one of Phuket's
longest beaches.

  It was once used for tin mining, but has since been developed into numerous resorts - from beach-side bungalows to luxury villas.  The central part of the beach and bay is occupied by the Laguna Resorts, a five-star resorts campus.  There are many accommodations available at the bay's south end, and behind and to the north of the Laguna complex.

 Dry season swimming is excellent, and at the bay's north end is a smaller bay, almost completely enclosed, at the mouth of which is some fine coral. There are plenty of places to eat, with beach shack restaurants up and down the beach, and developed areas just outside the Laguna Resorts area - as well as in Cherng Talay and Bang Tao Villages.  Tour companies, and other tourist facilities are available just about everywhere in the area.
